Maya Hamlet - Hypoplectrus Maya
The maya hamlet is a solid iridescent blue, lacks nose spots, and lacks black margins on its fins. This sets it apart from both the blue hamlet (H. gemma), which has black stripes on the upper and lower caudal fin edges, and the indigo hamlet (H. indigo), which has dark vertical bars. It is geographically restricted to the coastal lagoon of the Meso-American Barrier Reef in Belize, making it one of the most range-limited hamlets.
