Golden Hamlet - Hypoplectrus Gummigutta

The golden hamlet's head, body, and fins are bright yellow to golden orange, with a large black, blue-edged blotch on the side of the snout from the eye to the tip of the mouth, and a few blue spots and lines below and behind the eyes. It is the only hamlet that is entirely golden/orange-yellow over most of the body while bearing that distinctive black snout blotch. This separates it from the butter hamlet (H. unicolor), which is a paler yellow-white without the snout blotch, and from the shy hamlet (H. guttavarius), whose yellow is restricted to the head and fins while the body is dark brown.
