Black Hamlet - Hypoplectrus Nigricans
The black hamlet's head and body are uniformly black, grey, or dark brown, with all fins except the pectorals colored as the body; pectoral fins are black in black-bodied individuals but clear in those with grey bodies. There may be a bluish cast on various parts of the body and fins. It is the only hamlet that is wholly dark with no contrasting yellow, white, barring, or patterning, distinguishing it from H. chlorurus (which has a bright yellow tail), H. indigo (which is blue rather than black), and H. gemma (which is iridescent blue with pale, not dark, fin margins).
