Masked Hamlet - Hypoplectrus Providencianus

The masked hamlet has a pale, light body and is clearly distinguished by a black tear-like bar below the eye, black or dark pectoral fins (at least with dark upper edges), and a caudal fin that is dark or at least has dark upper and lower margins; a black caudal saddle ranges from well-developed to absent. The defining feature is the bold black triangular or tear-shaped mark under the eye — a "mask" found in no other hamlet species. Unlike H. chlorurus or H. nigricans, the rest of the body is pale rather than dark.
